‘Lolo’ Avilés wins in CM + with his BRC B49

The Spanish Mountain Championship played its penultimate scoring round of 2017 on 14, 15 and 16 July in the Alp 2500 Subida. With the title of category 1 already insured for Javi Villa in Tamaimo, the Bango Racing Cars driver did not took part in the Catalan event of the national contest, which also gave good results for the BRC that competed in the event.

The best classified was the B49 piloted by ‘Lolo’ Avilés, who prevailed in the CM + group and finished in the second position of the overall scratch, only surpassed by the barqueta Norma with a two-liter engine of the French Dimitri Pereira. For the purposes of the Spanish Championship, the Frenchman does not score so the young Andalusian was the best classified of the competitors in the national contest.

The next BRC in the final table of Alp was another B49, that of Jonathan Álvarez, who finished fourth overall and second in category 2. Jonathan completed the day on Saturday in the lead, after the dispute of the first two official raises, but committed an error in the last, held on Sunday morning, which cost him the victory. In any case, the Asturian pilot continues leading in net points and depends on himself to achieve the title of the CM-promotion in the final event, which will take place in Andorra at the end of September.

The podium of category 2 in Alp was completed by Arkaitz Ordoki, fifth in the overall scratch with his BRC B49. The driver was then classified by Garikoitz Flores, who suffered a touch in the second official on Saturday but managed to complete the Sunday to finish sixth and fourth in category 2, in which he keeps the third place in the championship.
